Event Policies & Terms and Conditions
When registering for an event, once you accept these conditions by checking the designated box on the registration form and you have successfully reserved your spot for an event or training by making a deposit or paying the full amount, the following terms come into effect. It is important to note that separate policies and terms exist for retreats with Esther Ekhart and Teacher Trainings.

Payment & Booking Policies for Retreats from 2024
1. Payment Policies

To secure your spot on a retreat, a non-refundable deposit is required if you are not paying the full price upfront.The full retreat fee must be paid in its entirety 12 weeks prior to the retreat start date.

If you are booking a spot on a retreat that is scheduled within the next 12 weeks, full payment is required at the time of booking.
2. Booking Policies

When booking a shared room, please note that we cannot guarantee the availability of a roommate due to potential odd numbers. In the unlikely event that no roommate is available, you may be required to pay a single supplement based on the retreat centre’s policy.

If you need to make changes to your booking, such as transferring to a different event or transferring your deposit/fee to another person a €50 administration fee applies. Please be aware that if you transfer your booking to a friend or relative, they will be placed in the same room type you initially booked. Any requests to transfer to a different event must be made 12 or more weeks before the start date of the event. After this time it is considered a cancellation. See the cancellation policy below.

3. Cancellation Policy (including special Covid 19 policy)
Unless otherwise specified (such as our Covid-19 policy), all retreat deposits are non-refundable.
Please note that any refunds issued do not cover personal expenses you have incurred, such as flights or other costs not paid directly to us. We strongly recommend obtaining travel insurance to cover these expenses.

4. General Cancellation Policy

Cancellations made 12 weeks or more before the retreat start date will receive a refund for the amount paid in full, minus the non-refundable deposit and a processing fee of €75.

Cancellations made within 12 weeks of the retreat start date are non-refundable. for extenuating circumstances see article 4.5 below.

If the retreat cannot take place due to new measures imposed by the COVID-19 health crisis, we will refund the full amount paid, including the deposit, minus a processing fee of €75.

In the unlikely event of retreat cancellation for reasons other than COVID-19, we will also refund the full amount paid, including the deposit, minus a processing fee of €75.

Transferring funds/deposit to another retreat: In certain extenuating circumstances, you might be eligible to transfer your funds/deposit to a future retreat scheduled within the upcoming 24 months or in instances where we are not actively accepting bookings for future retreats, we can retain the funds as credit, valid for a duration of 2 years. It's important to note that every case will be evaluated on an individual basis and necessitates a written request. All approved requests will be subject to a processing fee of €75

5. Special COVID-19 Cancellation Policy
This special Covid-19 cancellation policy applies only under the following conditions:

If your country of residence enforces travel restrictions that include mandatory quarantine upon return.

If you test positive for Covid-19, preventing you from attending the retreat.

For cancellations occurring 1 week before the retreat start date, we will refund the full amount paid (excluding the deposit). The deposit can be used as a credit toward another retreat within the next 2 years.

For cancellations within the last week before the retreat, we will refund 50% of the full amount paid (including the deposit). We will make every effort to retain the remaining amount as credit toward another retreat, subject to the retreat center's policy.

6. General Retreat Policies
We ask that you leave any devices (phones, tablets, iPod/iPad, computers and other mobile devices) generally in your room, so there is enough time and space for connection. If you must bring a phone with you to the workshop spaces, please ensure that it is on silent mode at all times.
All meals at retreats are vegetarian, and during the retreat, we suggest you refrain from consuming alcohol.
Teacher Training Terms, Conditions & Policies
1. Teacher Training Terms & Conditions ​
​By registering and paying the deposit/fee for a training, the student is subject to the following provisions.

Payment of fees must be paid as indicated on the registration page. If the student chooses to pay in instalments, it is the student’s responsibility to fulfil the agreement in the allotted period. Failure to do so will incur in personal and legal consequences.

Students from other countries are responsible for the extra bank costs.

Students who, for any reason, cannot finish the course are still committed to pay the tuition in full, as a spot has been reserved. When possible, the student and the facilitator of this training may discuss future options.

The Fat Yogis Teacher Training (TFYTT) and Esther Ekhart Events (EEE) and its teachers are not responsible for any damage or injury incurred before, during or after the teacher training. The student is expected to be in good physical condition and in case of bodily injuries, illnesses or physical abnormalities tell the teachers before the start of the training. The student is expected to take full responsibility for her/his own health and body.

The student accepts full responsibility for any damage that may result from the use of the space in which the lessons are taught. TFYTT and EEE is not responsible for damage to or loss of personal property before, during or after the teacher training.

In all reviews of the acquired level of knowledge and skills (as necessary for the granting of certificates), the student is to accept the judgment of the responsible teacher(s).

The planned training days and times can sometimes be changed through the organization. This will be communicated in advance.

The students agree that the tuition fees are non-refundable unless specified differently.
2. Payment Policies

To secure your spot on a teacher training, a deposit of €500 is required to secure your spot.

The full fee must be paid in its entirety 3 months prior to the training start date.

If you are booking a spot on a training that is scheduled within the next 3 months, full payment is required at the time of booking.
3. Booking Policies

When booking a shared room, please note that we cannot guarantee the availability of a roommate due to potential odd numbers. In the unlikely event that no roommate is available, you may be required to pay a single supplement based on the retreat centre's policy. In D’Alijo Retreat in Portugal, you will not be charged a single supplement.

If you would like to transfer your booking to another training this would be considered a cancellation and rebooking. Please see the cancellation policy below. In some cases, we can defer your fee to another training but this depends on the time frame and other conditions. Contact us directly to learn more.

4. Cancellations

Unless otherwise specified below, all training deposits are non-refundable. However, if we are able to fill your space, we will strive to provide a full refund, including the deposit, with relevant deductions for processing fees stipulated below.

5. Cancellation Policy

€75 processing fee applies for cancellations after payment.

€150 processing fee applies for cancellations made more than 6 months prior to the training.

€500 cancellation fee if cancelled 6 to 3 months from the start of the training.

No refunds if cancelling within 90 days of or after the training started and the student is required to pay the full amount of the training. If the student starts a training in the following year, the amount withheld shall be deducted from the training fee.
