A Different Kind Of Freedom

Strengthen the body you have. Quiet the mind. Discover the freedom of not being defined by either.

7 nights · yoga · meditation · nourishing meals

What if one week gave your body and mind the chance to settle—so you could feel lighter, more open and more fully alive again?

WHAT TO EXPECT

Space to slow down, listen deeply and return to your natural rhythm.

As the mind quietens and the breath deepens, the body has space to soften, while also becoming stronger, steadier and more alive.

This retreat is about balance. Movement and stillness. Strength and softness. Effort and ease.

Through yoga, meditation, breathwork, inquiry, nervous system practices and spacious periods of rest, we’ll create the conditions for your whole system to settle. Not simply so you can relax for a week, but so you can return home carrying that balance into your everyday life.

You don’t need to be particularly flexible or experienced to join. Every practice can be adapted to meet you where you are. All that’s needed is a willingness to show up, just as you are.

A retreat with enough structure to support you, and enough spaciousness to let the week unfold naturally.

WHAT YOU’LL EXPERIENCE

A gentle rhythm for body and mind.

Morning

Arrive quietly

Each morning begins quietly with meditation, breathwork and silence. Before the day asks anything of you, you’ll have the chance to simply arrive.

LATE MORNING

Move with purpose

After breakfast we gather for our main morning practice, with functional movement, gentle strengthening yoga, mobility and balance. We’ll move with purpose, building strength and maintaining mobility in ways that support how your body actually moves and functions in everyday life.

The intention is to leave you feeling more at home in your body — stronger, more mobile and better supported, both on and off the mat.

Afternoon & Evening

Make room for rest

Afternoons are spacious — time to swim, rest by the pool, enjoy the sauna, wander, read, journal or simply do very little. As the day closes, we gather again for quieter practices such as yin, restorative yoga, meditation, Yoga Nidra or self-inquiry.

Our days follow a gentle rhythm that allows both body and mind to settle. There is structure, but also enough spaciousness to listen to what you need.

“Strength isn’t the opposite of softness. Often it is what allows us to soften more deeply.”

WHAT MAKES THIS RETREAT DIFFERENT

Every retreat is different.

Every retreat I teach is different. I don’t arrive with a rigid programme or a script to follow.

Instead, I bring everything I’ve learned through more than twenty-five years of teaching yoga, meditation and mindfulness retreats, and allow the week to unfold around the people who are there.

There is, however, a rhythm that holds the week. Each day includes a longer morning practice where we move, strengthen, mobilise and explore balance in ways that are functional, mindful and adaptable to different bodies. You can expect around an hour and a half of active practice each day. Intelligent, purposeful movement designed to help you leave the retreat feeling stronger and more at ease in your body.

Together we’ll explore

Functional yoga and a balance of strengthening and relaxing to build resilience and confidence

Mobility practices to support freedom and ease in the body

Breathwork and meditation to calm and steady the mind

Yin yoga and restorative practices for deep release

Self-inquiry practices to explore the deeper sense of self beneath the changing experiences of life.

Yoga Nidra for profound rest and integration

YOU’RE SO WELCOME HERE

A week of practice, rest and genuine connection.

You can arrive exactly as you are. There’s no expectation to already feel calm or clear, or to be particularly fit or strong. You don’t need to prepare yourself for the retreat — the practices are there to meet you where you are and support you through the week.

One of the lovely things about retreat is the connections that naturally form. Many people arrive on their own and don’t know anyone, but over the course of the week meals are shared, conversations happen, and strangers gradually become familiar.

And sometimes those connections last well beyond the retreat itself. Many people have left my retreats with new friendships as well as a renewed connection with themselves.

PRACTICAL INFORMATION

The details you’ll want before you travel.

Arrival & Departure

Arrival — Saturday, June 19, 2027. Rooms are available from 4:00pm. Lunch on arrival day is provided free of charge.

Departure — Saturday, June 26, 2027. Check-out is at 11:00am. Staying on for lunch can be added to your bill.

Food & Dietary Requirements

Every day you’ll enjoy three abundant vegetarian meals, included in your retreat price. Fresh, colourful and deeply nourishing, the food is often one of the highlights of the week.

Vegan, dairy-free and gluten-free diets can usually be accommodated, and nut-free dishes can be prepared on request. As meals are served buffet-style in a shared kitchen, the absence of cross-contamination can’t be guaranteed — this includes nuts, gluten and other allergens.

A note on a few specific sensitivities: meals without raw onion, garlic, tomato and/or pepper may carry a small daily supplement, depending on how strict the requirement is.

If you have food allergies, coeliac disease, severe intolerances or highly restrictive dietary requirements, please get in touch before booking so we can advise whether we’re able to cater for your needs.

Getting There

The easiest airport to fly into is Seville Airport, approximately 75 minutes from Suryalila, and this is the option we recommend for most participants.

We’ll do our best to coordinate shared taxis for guests arriving around the same time, making the journey both easier and more economical. You can usually count on a transfer that will leave Seville Airport at around 2:00pm, allowing everyone to arrive comfortably for check-in at 4pm. As a guide, a taxi from Seville Airport currently costs around €100 for up to four people, making it very reasonable when shared.

It is also possible to fly into Jerez (a little closer) or Málaga (further away). Málaga is an excellent option if you’d like to hire a car and perhaps explore a little of Andalusia before or after the retreat.

If you prefer public transport, you can take a bus to Villamartín, followed by a short taxi ride to the retreat centre. The taxi from Villamartín currently costs around €20 for up to four people.

A few weeks before the retreat we’ll contact everyone to collect flight details and do our very best to organise shared transport wherever possible.
